Chandigarh, December 2
Traffic restrictions will be in place in Chandigarh on Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon to ensure smooth movement during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. According to a traffic advisory issued by UT police, diversions will be enforced on December 2 from 8:15 pm to 9:30 pm at key intersections, including Dakshin Marg at Airport Light Point, Hallo Majra Lights, Tribune Chowk, and Iron Market Chowk. Other affected areas include Gurdwara Chowk, Labour Chowks, and Hira Singh Chowk along Sarovar Path.
On December 3, additional restrictions will apply from 11 am to 3:30 pm along Vigyan Path, PEC Light Point, and intersections near Sectors 2, 3, 9, and 10. Residents have been urged to follow designated routes and avoid affected areas during the VVIP movements. Police officials have assured that measures are in place to minimize inconvenience to commuters.
