Shimla, May 27
In a major development following the Himachal Pradesh High Court’s decision to hand over the Vimal Negi case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the state government on Tuesday directed three senior officials — Director General of Police Atul Verma, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Onkar Sharma, and Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi — to proceed on leave.
The move comes amid indications that show-cause notices are likely to be issued to the trio in connection with the handling of the case.
