Chandigarh/Amritsar, January 7
In a significant breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled a cross-border drug trafficking network, arresting four individuals with links to Pakistan-based smugglers. The accused were allegedly using drones to smuggle drugs across the border. The Police recovered 5 kilograms of heroin from the suspects and have registered an FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Chheharta police station.
Police are continuing investigations to uncover both the origins and distribution channels of the drug trade. Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to combatting drug networks and making the state drug-free.
