Encourages students to stay in state: Khudian to teachers

In a bid to address the brain drain in Punjab, Agricultural and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian has called on school teachers to play a key role in convincing students to pursue opportunities within the state after completing their education. “Punjab has everything to offer its youth,” Khudian said, highlighting the state’s potential and mentioning the over 46,000 government jobs provided to young people in the past two and a half years. He encouraged students to explore career paths within Punjab.

The minister was speaking at the 3rd Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) at Baldev Singh Government Senior Secondary School in Majatri of SAS Nagar. Accompanied by District Education Officer Ginny Duggal, Khudian engaged with students and parents, gathering feedback on the school’s facilities and education quality.

Khudian praised the efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government to upgrade the state’s education system. He noted that for the first time, over 500 teachers were sent to Singapore, Finland, and the IIMs to enhance their skills for delivering better education.

He encouraged students to work diligently to achieve their life goals, stressing that Punjab offers significant opportunities. Khudian also acknowledged the initiative of Mega PTMs, which aim to involve parents in the school system to raise educational standards and improve infrastructure.

Additionally, he commended School Principal Ms. Harminder Kaur and her team for their dedication in preparing students for future success. Khudian toured the school, inspecting its infrastructure and cleanliness.
