Punjab New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Aman Arora on Tuesday unveiled a set of measures aimed at boosting investor confidence and ensuring the smooth execution of renewable energy projects in the state. Speaking at the Renewable Energy Developers Meet held at the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) complex in Chandigarh, Arora directed PEDA to appoint a dedicated nodal officer to serve as a single point of contact for developers. The officer will be responsible for resolving inter-departmental coordination issues that often delay project commissioning. In addition, Arora instructed PEDA to launch a WhatsApp helpline within a week, allowing developers to raise concerns and seek assistance directly. The move, he said, would enable real-time grievance redressal.
“We are not just open for business; we are proactive partners in the success of renewable energy projects,” Arora said, adding that the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government was committed to providing a supportive environment for investors. Arora stressed that cutting red tape and simplifying processes was key to meeting Punjab’s renewable energy ambitions and attracting greater investment.
The meeting was attended by PEDA Chairperson Dr Gurpreet Kaur Gogi, Principal Secretary of the department Ajoy Kumar Sinha, CEO Neelima, and other senior officials.
